On 18 March 2010, Motorland Aragón was announced as a replacement for the Balatonring on the 2010 MotoGP calendar. Aragón was already in place as a reserve event and replaces the Hungarian race which was postponed because of overrunning construction work. The Aragon motorcycle Grand Prix is the fourth Spanish race on the calendar. The circuit will become a long-term reserve option for the championship, agreeing a five-year deal with series rights-holders Dorna Sports.
